I did this piece on 100% cotton rag from Fabriano’s Medoevalis line, I used an osmiroid b-4, a Parker 75 with a US 98 nib, and a hand ground fine italic Parker Sonnet.

The script is Roman square capitals and the most intriguing thing about it is that, apart from its naturally clean and dignified look, it has no descendants or forebears, existing entirely on its own in paleographic history. Zing.

I think far too much of the calligraphy currently available oozes with the Bible and, I… don’t.

The quotation comes from David Cross’ bit on his album, “Shut Up, You Fucking Baby” which is very clever and incisive. You should buy it.
