About Ian
Ian K. was born in Manhattan along with thousands of other babies. A little younger than Etch-a-Sketch, a little older than Lite Brite, but not as entertaining as either.
Even though Ian’s work has been featured in magazines and on websites, it’s no big deal. Loads of people have done the same.
Sure, Ian has lectured at FIT, but that was just a couple of times; plenty of people lecture there every day.
Like many comedians, Ian has written and performed sold-out shows at New York’s Broadway Comedy Club.
Before his current comics project, the Dan & Steve Show, Ian made several other comic strips including Pigeonhole, Cosmetropolitan, My Stuff Talks, Adolf Nauseum, Gothatropolis, That Darned Pope, the Street, and Tesla Hate Edison which got the attention of Warren Ellis, but that was only for a minute.
He was talking with the editorial department at DC/Vertigo about writing a miniseries for a while. Don’t get excited, after a year, they decided not to publish his story.
Under the alias of MisterHian, Ian also wrote for Digital Strips and even did their first print interviews, starting a trend. He doesn’t write for them anymore, though.
As Co-creator of the Dan & Steve Show, Ian writes, letters, and models for the web-based comic strip which has been shown in galleries, but that’s very common, don’t praise him.
Ian K. is just your average, run-of-the-mill, dime-a-dozen juggling essayist, children’s writer, comedian, calligrapher, grown-ups’ writer, letterer, designer, paleographer, comics writer, interviewer, actor, grammarian, polyglot, model, and you’d probably be better off looking at a website for someone else who does all those things since they’re probably better than Ian who is a big nothing.
